Property Location
Haslemere is an attractive market
town about 15 miles south west of Guildford and some 3 miles
from the A3. The town dates from 1221 the name being derive
from Hazel trees growing around a lake (or mere). After
completion of the railway between Portsmouth – Haslemere –
London the town became a fashionable place to live. Four
trains an hour to London with the express trains taking a little
over an hour and is therefore very popular with commuters.
The High Street is wide reflecting is Victorian use as a weekly
cattle market, with the former Town Hall at one end Notable
inhabitants include Alfred, Lord Tennyson and John Tyndall.
